RevivalDRIVE's simple but robust control section makes dialing up your favorite tones a breeze. Control how and when RevivalDRIVE breaks up with the Volume knob, just like on a non-master-volume amp. The Bass control lets you select the amount of low frequencies that get fed into the drive. Let them all in for some wild and wooly OD or trim them back to tighten and focus your tone. With RevivalDRIVE’s ample controls you can enhance presence, tailor your mids, and select from the preamp behavior characteristics of the all-time great American and British guitar amps.

When designing the RevivalDRIVE, Origin Effects took into account that when pedal designers are voicing their pedals, they're typically doing so to match one or a few of their favorite amps. But if you're using something different, then you may not be getting the most out of a pedal. The standard RevivalDRIVE pedal works around that by providing two EQ curve options for British- and American-style amps. The custom edition takes it one step further, giving you detailed control over the pedal's voicing — including variable shelf and frequency cut controls and a secondary boost/cut EQ — so you can match it perfectly to your pedal platform amp.

Sag and ghosting add dimension to your sound

Much of the magic imparted by vintage amps derives from their slight yet musical imperfections, such as sag and ghosting. Sag refers to when the power supply voltage drops when it gets hit with a large transient signal, which creates a natural compression effect and contributes to the dynamic feel of vintage-style amps. Ghosting, also referred to as double tones, is when a slightly darker and often atonal note follows what you play that’s created by the amp’s rectifier during power conversion. On paper, sag and ghosting are technically design flaws. However, without them, a vintage amp loses a lot of its charm. RevivalDRIVE gives you total control over how much or how little sag or ghosting you add into the signal, to strike the perfect balance of clarity and character.
